The visitor and her parents are asked to report to the school office by 8.40am where they will meet their Form Tutor and the 'buddies' assigned to look after for for the day.
Pupils in Year 1 or above usually spend a typical day with their peers and, as far as possible, follow a 'normal' tmetable. During the day your daughter may be assessed for reading and spelling ages -this usulally takes about 20mins to half an hour and is NOT a 'pass/fail' examination. During the day, the visitor's teachers will make informal assessments on the contribution to class work and the interaction between other girls in the class.
Visitors to Prep may spend a morning visiting the department depending on their maturity and stamina.
We ask that visitors attend with the necessary equipment, comfortably dressed though preferably not in trousers. Existing school uniform, if available, is often most suitable.
Lunch is provided for our visitors though the office should be informed in advance of any specific dietry requirements.
It may be advisable to arrange more than one Day Visit prior to a visitor enrolling or starting; it may also be possible to involve visitors in other school activities and events before starting.
At the end of the Day Visit, parents and the visitor are invited to attend a feedback session with the Headmaster who will usually be in a position to verbally offer a place starting at a mutually convenient date. Verbal offers are confirmend in writing within 24hours; offers expire in 30 days.
