C.O.G.U.
Culcheth Old Girls' Union is made up of a group of former pupil's and staff. We meet on a springtime Saturday morning to play Netball against the present pupils and again in the summertime we gather to play Rounders (and Croquet for the less fit!). After both these events a light snack, provided by the Old Girls, is enjoyed by all present. Usually joining us are various Mums, Dads, Grandparents, friends, siblings and the odd family dog, who all spend a fun time cheering on their side - even the dog!
During Founders' week at Culcheth (February), C.O.G.U. invite all members to a Reunion in school, when caterers provide an enjoyable supper and we can have plenty of chit-chat amongst ourselves. This meal is preceded by a short AGM, and entertainment is provided by present girls.
If any parent or pupil is interested to learn more or to join this endearing group which has thrived for more than one hundred years, then please speak to the staff in the school General Office who will put you in touch with COGU.
