Pastoral care |
The pastoral care of every pupil is fundamental to the principles
of the School and we invest a great deal of time in each child's personal and
social welfare.
- Pupils are assigned to a Form Tutor who is responsible for
ensuring that each individual strives to achieve their full potential and
behave in a manner which is a credit to themselves, their parents and the
School.
- Staff regularly liaise with Form, House and Subjects tutors to keep an
overview of each pupil's welfare and progress. As pupils prepare for GCSE
examinations in Years 10 and 11 an additional mentoring facility is
available.
- The After-School Club operates during term time from 3.15pm to 6.00pm and is
designed to facilitate those children who cannot be collected on time at the
end of the school day.
- Work experience is arranged for all pupils in Year 10 with the assistance of
the local Careers Advisory Service.
- Students elect representatives from their forms and year groups to form the
Student Council.
- There is a strong expectation that all pupils should behave in a courteous,
reliable and self-disciplined manner. If pupils fall short of these
expectations, parents will be informed and sanctions applied.
