This winter, the school has had to close for two days
because of heavy snowfall and thick ice. Whilst this decision is regrettable and only
taken as a last resort, it has proved to be necessary for the safety of
girls, parents and staff travelling to and from school.
- Culcheth Hall School
will be open as usual until parents are advised otherwise by text message as soon as possible after the decision to close has been made. Local radio stations and Trafford Education Authority will also be informed.
- Parents should
consider their own personal circumstances and the safety of their daughter
-if you consider it unsafe for your daughter to travel to school, keep
her at home! Email the school office to this
effect, stating your daughter's name and form.
- If heavy snow is likely during the day and travel conditions are likely to
be hazardous, phone the school or pick up your daughter early. Parents
must report to the office in this instance.
- The school must be notified (by
email or phone) by a girl's parent if the
parent of another pupil or other responsible adult is collecting her. Please state your
daughter's name, form and the name of the adult collecting her.
- 'Phone the office for information (0161 928 1862).
If the line is permanently engaged, you may assume the school is closing
and the office staff are 'phoning parents to that effect.
- Do not try to contact your daughter on her mobile as this may
disrupt classes in session. Only contact your daughter via the
school office (0161 928 1862 or email).
